Kitchen Types

The kitchen layouts must permit the continuity of all kitchen activities. The traditional work triangle that separates the sink, hob and refrigerator has evolved into a practical "work zone" concept. In addition, the arrangement of counters in the kitchen varies according to the size and shape of the kitchen.

Straight Kitchen

starting from ₹ 2,00,000

This type of configuration while not ideal in terms of the ideal work triangle arrangement of the sink, hob and fridge, is often the only workable option in a narrow kitchen or an open kitchen. The full length can be used to provide maximum storage above and below the platform, due to absence of any dead corners. Care must be taken that the hob, sink and cold storage (fridge) are spread apart by enough distance so as not to risk accidents.

Parallel Kitchen

starting from ₹ 4,00,000

This is the most common of kitchen layouts that allows for the efficient separation of the work triangle of the sink, hob and fridge while also allowing for ample storage, both above and below the platform, as usually the window falls along the shorter wall. This configuration works well for rectangular rather than square kitchens, and is advantageous since dead corners are totally avoided. However, it must be kept in mind that there is sufficient width left free for movement between the two parallel platforms, or else it is impractical for more than one person to use the kitchen at the same time.

L-Shaped Kitchen

starting from ₹ 3,25,000

The L shaped platform configuration works well for both rectangular as well as square kitchens. Within the work triangle of the sink, hob and fridge, any two will be placed on one edge, with a comfortable distance in between, while the third will be on the adjacent surface. In this arrangement, only one dead corner is formed, which can be dealt with using one of our modular corner solutions. Even if a window is present along one wall, the space above the other platform can accommodate a full bank of overhead storage, except over the hob in case of a chimney.

C-Shaped Kitchen

starting from ₹ 3,75,000

The C shaped platform layout allows for spacious and comfortable distribution of functions, as the sink area (washing), hob area (cooking) and preparation area (including fridge) can be all placed along separate walls if necessary. Secondly, even as one of the platforms faces a window, one has ample room for storage above the other two platforms. This configuration works well only for larger or square shaped kitchens, since in kitchens with a smaller width the third shorter platform may not be very user friendly due to the insufficient circulation space.

Island Kitchen

starting from ₹ 5,50,000

This type of configuration can only work in a large kitchen as besides the platforms running along the wall, here there is an additional ‘floating’ island unit is provided in the centre, while still leaving enough open moving space around it on all four sides. The island can also accommodate a sink or hob with chimney if required. This type of kitchen lends a stylish aesthetic while also providing extra storage under the island unit, which can also double up as a breakfast table, informal seating or bar, depending on the customers’ needs.
